COO
In your own words, what is different about DRDA?
Most companies that you deal with have visions and missions centered around how they succeed or find financial success. DRDA has a compelling mission, a noble purpose. For me that provided an anchor point to what we do – our “why”?
The values are the the framework within which operate and that we can hold ourselves accountable to. That creates a very powerful community dynamic grounded in safety, predictability and alignment.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
I find three things fulfilling:
The role of COO to me is a balance of these.
How did you choose your career path?
I took a non conventional route to where I ended up. I studied mechanical engineering because my guidance teacher said it was difficult and obtained a full ride scholarship from a mining house. After a few years of working in the mining environment I learned that I was more interested in the people and process aspect of my role and less so in the mechanics. I pivoted to health care and have had an absolute blast building businesses and growing leaders across multiple business lines. All along the way I’ve been inspired by a greater calling – to make people healthier. That and to ensure that everyone understands how their unique contribution impacts the business.
In your own words, what is your job description?
I am responsible for the operational execution of the DRDA’s strategy. I am focussed on building a scalable business while protecting DRDA’s values.
