In your own words, what is different about DRDA? (What stands out to you about the firm’s culture, mission, or team?)

DRDA has a holistic approach that most firms ignore. We care about the client’s future, not just about doing transactional business in the now. We actually care about both our clients and the community in which they function.

What do you find most rewarding about your role (or being an accountant, if applicable)? (What gives you satisfaction or purpose in your work?)

I find designing the optimal retirement plan for a client, that perfectly meets their tax, employee, and retirement goals, to be incredibly satisfying.

How did you choose your career path (or how did you get into accounting)? (Tell us what inspired or led you here.)

I was brought into the retirement industry as a teenager by my father, an actuary, and I never looked back.

In your own words, what is your job description? (Describe what you do and how you help clients or the team.)

My job is to look at all of our clients’ needs and to find optimal solutions for them that balance costs, benefits, and long-term results.

Practice Areas or Focus Areas: (List your areas of expertise, services, or types of clients you work with.)

My expertise is strongest with Defined Contribution plans, but I have extensive experience with Pension plans, Deferred Compensation plans, plan design, and plan mergers and acquisitions.

Personal Insights

What is your hidden talent or something unique about you? (This could be a skill, hobby, or fun fact.)

I am a skilled (if amateur) singer; I went to all-state choir as a teenager.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work? (Hobbies, family time, community involvement, etc.)

When I’m not raising my two young daughters or herding cats, I am gardening, playing chess, or writing a novel.

Where did you grow up or go to school? (Optional — helps make bios more personal.)

I was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Tampa, Florida, but I moved to Texas when I could and have never looked back.

Favorite snack, movie, or hobby (optional but fun!):

My favorite hobby is playing Magic the Gathering.

Five percent of your life is out of your control. Stop whining and focus on the other ninety-five.
